Verification Guidelines
Harcourtian Connect is an independent, private network for alumni, students, and faculty of Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU/HBTI), Kanpur. Please note that this platform is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the university. Verification is managed independently and is allowed/approved only by platform administrators and verified batchmates.
To preserve the security and integrity of this community, every member must have their profile verified through one of the two independent methods below:
Admin Verification
The verification path checked directly by the independent platform administrators based on your submitted credentials.
Upload Credentials: Provide a photo of your degree certificate, final marksheet, provisional certificate, or university-issued photo ID card during registration.
Document Verification: The platform admin team reviews the submitted documents to confirm your graduation year, degree details, and identity.
Approval: Once matching records are confirmed, your profile is permanently verified. Reviews generally take 24 to 48 hours.
Batchmate Vouching
A decentralized peer-to-peer verification system based on the vouch of verified graduates from your own batch.
Find Classmates: Select a verified batchmate (an alumnus who graduated in the same year and department as you) from the lookup list.
Vouch Notification: Your selected batchmate receives a secure request in their app to vouch for your enrollment details.
Instant Verification: As soon as your batchmate clicks "Vouch/Verify", your account is immediately activated without waiting for admin review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a batchmate from a different graduation year verify me?
No. To prevent abuse, the vouching system restricts requests to alumni who share the exact same graduation batch year as you.
What if my documents are rejected during Admin review?
If your documents are unclear, pixelated, or do not verify your alumni status, the platform admins will request you to re-upload clear credentials. You can also switch to the Batchmate Vouching route if you have classmates on the platform.
Is there any cost associated with verification?
No. Harcourtian Connect is a community network. Verification is 100% free of charge for all HBTU/HBTI students, faculty, and alumni.
