Welcome to Harcourtian Connect ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Use govern your access and use of our mobile application (Harcourtian Connect, package ID: com.kwh.almuniconnect) and our associated website. By creating an account or accessing the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
If you do not agree to all of these terms, you are not authorized to use the platform.
1. Eligibility and Account Verification
Harcourtian Connect is an independent, exclusive, private network for verified alumni, students, and faculty members of Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU/HBTI), Kanpur. Please note that this platform is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the university. Verification is managed independently and is allowed/approved only by platform administrators and verified batchmates. To maintain the integrity of this community:
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- You are required to submit valid proof of alumni status (e.g., college ID, graduation certificate, or registration number) during sign-up.
- We reserve the right to approve, reject, or suspend any profile pending or after the verification process.
2. User Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use or security breach of your account.
3. Acceptable Use and Community Rules
Members must interact respectfully and professionally. You agree NOT to use the platform to:
- Share false information, impersonate other alumni, or pretend to belong to a graduation year or branch that is not yours.
- Spam the directory, scrape alumni contact details, or harvest personal data for commercial marketing, sales, or recruiting outside the approved jobs module.
- Post offensive, harassing, defamatory, or inappropriate content on the news feeds or message systems.
- Engage in illegal activities, upload malicious files, or interfere with the platform's security mechanisms.
4. Jobs, Referrals, and Business Listings
Our platform facilitates career networking, job referrals, and business directory listings. Please note:
- Users posting job vacancies or business profiles are solely responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of their content.
- We do not guarantee employment, responses to referral requests, or business outcomes from listings.
- Commercial advertisement or promotion of external, unrelated services is strictly prohibited unless authorized under the business listings module.
5. Intellectual Property
The Harcourtian Connect brand, software design, styling elements, logos, and features are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any portion of the platform without our prior written consent.
6. Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your account and block access to the platform for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violating these Terms of Use or our community guidelines.
- Failing verification checkups.
- Engaging in suspicious or abusive behavior.
7. Limitation of Liability
Harcourtian Connect is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind regarding the platform's uptime, reliability, or completeness. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform.
